Advanced Space is leading humanity back to the Moon and pioneering innovative solutions in the space industry. We are looking for a Navigation Engineer to develop navigation algorithms, support a technically diverse team, and conduct detailed analyses related to spacecraft navigation.
You will support multiple projects and programs, including the CAPSTONE mission, the Oracle mission for space situational awareness at the Moon for the Air Force Research Lab, and infrastructure for commercial, civil, and national security missions to the Moon.
This position is headquartered in Westminster, Colorado and is primarily on-premises. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary engineering team focused on spacecraft navigation, mission design, and technology development.
Responsibilities
- Develop and evaluate spacecraft navigation software and estimation formulations
- Understand state estimation and Kalman filter fundamentals
- Work with common navigation filter architectures
- Perform orbit determination analyses for defined mission scenarios
- Configure force models, measurement models, and estimation setups
- Process and assess radiometric, optical, GPS, or similar tracking data
- Perform data editing, residual assessment, and basic filter diagnostics
- Conduct covariance analysis and interpret navigation uncertainty
- Use astrodynamics and navigation tools such as Monte
- Write scripts and software to support navigation analysis workflows and algorithm development

Requirements
- 2-5 years of professional experience in spacecraft navigation, orbit determination, or related astrodynamics roles
- US Person (citizen or permanent resident)
- Able to work in Westminster, CO office 5 days per week during core business hours
- Not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support
Compensation
- Base Salary: $92,000-$121,000 (based on role, experience, and location)
