About Apex

Apex manufactures satellite buses at scale for commercial payloads. As launch costs decrease and more companies enter space, demand for these spacecraft platforms is surging. You will work on systems that enable earth observation, communications, and more.

The Role

You will lead the design of avionics, flight computer, and power systems for our satellite bus. Starting from clean sheet design, you will inform coupled trades across vehicle architecture and push the limits of performance.

Responsibilities

  • Design, analyze, and test DC-DC power converters for harsh space environments
  • Develop electrical power system architecture and sub-system level design trades
  • Define and perform electrical power system verification testing and analysis
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams of design, test, and production engineers
  • Drive system and electrical architecture trades, component selection, schematic capture, prototyping, bring-up, design documentation, manufacturing planning, and production test
  • Provide technical leadership, manage program risk and change, and drive new technology introduction

Requirements

  • U.S. Person status required to access export-controlled data
  • 6 or more years of spacecraft electronics experience
  • Experience across multiple spacecraft programs
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with multiple audiences
  • Extensive experience in spacecraft design, launch, and operation across all development phases
  • Experience in integrated software and hardware verification and testing

Compensation

Salary range: $165,000 to $195,000 per year.
