The Opportunity

As a Senior GNC Engineer, you will be part of a small team that develops the control, estimation, and guidance algorithms that fly our rockets. You'll be deeply involved in all aspects of GNC and work closely with all teams to ensure the rocket is designed, tested, and launched to deploy its payload to the target orbit.

What You'll Do

• Develop: Create GNC algorithms, simulation models, and trajectories
• Analyze: Use ground test and flight data to verify system performance and improve simulation fidelity
• Refine: Tune controllers and guidance algorithms to meet GNC requirements
• Test: Build test automation across Simulink simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, engine test cells, and integrated vehicles
• Fly: Support launch from mission control and fulfill GNC responsibilities during countdown

What We're Looking For

• 3-5 years of experience in aerospace vehicle GNC development and simulation
• Advanced degree in engineering, physics, mathematics or equivalent
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink and C++ or Python
• Experience building controllers for rockets, drones, or robots
• Experience implementing software interfaces and interpreting Interface Control Documents
• Strong interpersonal skills with ability to articulate ideas and give technical feedback
• Excitement to work in a fast-paced, self-driven, iterative startup environment
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and technical leadership experience (desired)

Compensation

$115,000-140,000 per year, plus bonus and benefits.

Requirements

ITAR: This position requires compliance with U.S. Government space technology trade restrictions, specifically the International Trafficking in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and additional regulations governing satellite, launch vehicle, missile, and other related technologies. Applicants must be documented U.S. Persons or able to receive a trade license from the cognizant government agency, subject to company background checks and applicable U.S. and California laws.
