The Role
As an Electrical Integration Intern, you will work on an interdisciplinary team designing, building, and testing satellite hardware and software over a 12-week placement.
- Design, build, and test satellite avionics hardware and software
- Partner with Electrical, Mechanical, Radio Frequency, and Propulsion teams to develop assembly and integration test plans and procedures
- Operate test equipment including thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes
- Coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental testing efforts
- Solve complex electrical, software, and mechanical integration problems
Requirements
- Pursuing a four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline
- Passion for hands-on hardware development in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication skills
- Available to work onsite 5 days per week
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status (required to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations)
Bonus Experience
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing complex electrical systems
- Python coding experience interfacing with test equipment, processing datasets, and visualizing data
- Direct electrical or software design experience
- Ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure
Compensation
Base hourly pay: $29.00 USD
Employment Details
This is an hourly internship role for students currently enrolled at a four-year university. The typical internship duration is 12 weeks. This position requires full-time onsite presence in San Francisco.
