About this role
As an Environmental Test Engineer Associate, you will work on an interdisciplinary team designing, building, and testing satellite hardware and software. This is a 12-week salaried position for graduates with a bachelor's degree.
You will operate and setup environmental test equipment including ambient thermal chambers, thermal vacuum chambers (TVAC), vibration shaker tables, and EMI/EMC test equipment. You will learn to use various test instruments such as thermal chambers, vibration tables, data acquisition systems, and oscilloscopes to execute test plans. Your responsibilities include setting up, operating, and conducting environmental testing including vibration, acoustics, thermal, thermal vacuum, and RF testing.
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- Passion for hardware development and hands-on design work
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Strong communication skills
- Familiarity with spacecraft systems and operation
- Must be onsite 5 days a week
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required (ITAR compliance)
Preferred experience
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing hardware
- Python programming to interface with test equipment, process datasets, and visualize data
- Computer-aided design (CAD)
- Direct electrical or mechanical design experience
- Ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure
Compensation
Base salary: $1,925 per week
