Flight Software Engineer Seen this week

About the role

You will support the development, execution, and implementation of the flight software that commands and monitors the spacecraft. You will connect with other teams to ensure that the software you've implemented works on their hardware.

What you'll do

  • Implement spacecraft avionics software
  • Implement ground control and telemetry software
  • Implement software for automated testing at component, functional and system levels, including HITL (Hardware in the Loop) testing
  • Implement low level software to interface with various spacecraft components
  • Implement, troubleshoot and improve real time operating system components
  • Support in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly growing team

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in CS, EE or equivalent background knowledge
  • Experience with C and/or C++
  • Experience with Linux and shell command line tools
  • A passion for building things in a fast-paced environment with hands-on design and development

Bonus skills

  • Experience designing real time systems
  • Experience building bare-metal embedded system software
  • Experience reading schematics and datasheets, debugging circuits that interface with embedded software using debuggers, logic analyzers or oscilloscopes
  • Experience with web development frameworks and databases
  • Experience with test framework development, especially HITL (Hardware in the Loop) systems

Compensation

Base salary: $130,000 to $175,000 USD

Compensation includes equity via incentive stock options, company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement planning, flexible PTO, and on-site catered meals.
