The Role
As Senior Electrical Reliability Engineer, you will ensure spacecraft electronics and systems meet reliability and availability requirements for their entire mission duration. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to push the boundary of geo-synchronous spacecraft design.
- Perform reliability and availability analysis using Reliability Block Diagrams and DFMEA
- Advise engineers on optimal redundancy architecture
- Support engineering and production teams with design reviews, failure analysis, and root cause analysis
- Plan and manage EEE component tests, defining reliability targets, sample sizes, and stress conditions for internal or external test labs
- Collaborate with broad teams to ensure spacecraft operate reliably over their entire mission duration
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, materials science, or related engineering field
- 5+ years experience as a reliability or electrical engineer
- 4+ years experience in one or more of: physics of failure, design for reliability, functional safety, or accelerated testing
- Experience in electrical design, including components, circuits, PCBs, or electronic assemblies
- Experience in reliability statistics and data analysis
- Strong analytical skills and ability to thrive in collaborative team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Experience
- Failure analysis and destructive physical analysis investigations
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and testing methodologies for electronic components
- Knowledge of accelerated test profiles for component-level screening and qualification testing
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $135,000 to $235,000 USD. Compensation package includes equity via incentive stock options, company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement planning, flexible PTO, and on-site catered meals.
