About the role
Axiom Space is building the world's first commercial space station. We are seeking an EVA Principal Systems Engineer to lead major testing campaigns for the AxEVA System. You will report to the EVA Systems Engineering and Integration Manager and work onsite in Webster, Texas.
What you will do
- Lead end-to-end systems engineering for Axiom EVA Systems, covering suits, flight support equipment, training equipment, ground equipment, and EVA tools
- Define concept of operations, functions, interfaces, and subsystem-level requirements
- Create and maintain the EVA Systems Model in Cameo (MBSE environment), from top-level functions and architecture down to component-level detail
- Integrate system models into Jama requirements management system for full traceability
- Conduct trade studies on alternative solutions, including avionics architectures and suit antenna updates for improved communications
- Support definition, planning, coordination and closure for verification and validation of EVA requirements
- Create and manage product breakdown structures and architecture definitions
- Define and maintain system and subsystem integrated performance assessments
- Provide subsystem-level support across the AxEVA System and manage cross-system change impacts
Your experience
- Bachelor's Degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 6+ years of systems engineering experience across the lifecycle (concepts, requirements, design, integration, V&V)
- Proficiency with Cameo or similar tools for system modeling, trade analysis, and architecture development
- Experience with communications systems including UHF, WiFi, and cellular/5G
- Experience with NASA human spaceflight programs and spacecraft or spacesuit testing
- Spacesuit experience preferred
- INCOSE CSEP certification preferred
- Strong attention to detail with ability to see the bigger picture on complex projects
- Excellent writing and presentation skills for senior decision-makers and technical audiences
- Start-up organization experience a plus

Work is primarily in an office environment but may involve time at test facilities. You will sit or stand for extended periods (90% of the time) and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
