Axiom Space is building Axiom Station, the successor to the International Space Station, and developing commercial human spaceflight services and advanced spacesuits for lunar and deep-space missions.

The Role

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for software quality assurance on ground and space systems. You will interface with software design engineers, system and software safety engineers, and other subsystems to plan, document, and execute strategies that ensure safe and reliable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software quality assurance plans, processes, and procedures for design, qualification, test, and acceptance to ensure products meet defined requirements and standards
  • Maintain and ensure Quality Management System (QMS) compliance with AS 9100 and CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration)
  • Support nonconformance and anomaly resolution processes, ensuring Corrective/Preventative Action Plan (CA/PA) implementation
  • Support and lead internal audits, submit findings, recommend Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, standards, and certifications
  • Conduct product and process assessments and audits for continuous improvement
  • Investigate nonconformances, track trends, and resolve issues
  • Develop quality reports, presentations, and Safety and Mission Assurance (S&MA) documents for leadership
  • Support achievement and maintenance of CMMI level certification in software development

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5-7+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance for human spaceflight
  • Knowledge of Quality Management System (QMS) and aerospace quality processes
  • Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
  • Ability to plan, perform analyses, and report on quality requirements, product and process assessments, qualification, testing, audit findings, trends, and product improvements
  • Experience managing and tracking tasks in JIRA and Confluence

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience performing AS 9100 audits and assessments
  • Experience maintaining a CMMI level rating in software development

Work Environment and Requirements

Generally office-based. Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time) and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs (5% of the time). Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.

This position may require access to export controlled technical data subject to NASA regulations, ITAR, or EAR. Final candidates may be required to undergo export control screening. Meeting these requirements is a condition of employment.
