The Role

As an Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) Engineer, you will support the assembly, integration and test of satellites and their subsystems. You will design and develop test setups, create and maintain test procedures, and support troubleshooting during production. Working closely with system and hardware engineers, you will help define test requirements and provide feedback to design engineers for test and design for manufacturing improvements.

This is an onsite position based in Tukwila, WA, reporting to the Director of Production. You will be in the office five days a week.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and execute satellite and subsystem test setups, instrumentation and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering disciplines and program management to ensure tests align with requirements, schedules and quality standards
  • Maintain existing automated and manual test equipment and lead development of new test setups and fixtures
  • Maintain existing satellite and subsystem test harnesses and lead development of new harnesses
  • Execute satellite-level tests, support troubleshooting and resolve stoppages during testing
  • Create work instructions and training documentation for satellite assemblies and subsystems
  • Support process improvement projects to optimize test documentation, data management, configuration control and production quality

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years hands-on production environment experience, preferably with space hardware
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and create harness schematics
  • Demonstrated experience with integration, end-to-end testing and operations
  • Strong understanding of satellites and satellite subsystems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Unwavering attention to detail with high-value hardware assets
  • Ability to occasionally travel domestically and internationally to support launch campaigns
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in high reliability, safety critical or regulated environments
  • Experience with Plex or similar MRP/ERP systems
  • Experience with Jira or similar software scheduling tools
  • Familiarity with Git or other software version control tools
  • Familiarity with Python and Bash

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated hourly range for candidates in Tukwila, Washington is $110,000-$130,000 per year. Final compensation depends on background and education.
