New Glenn is a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
The Role
As an Avionics Test Engineer III, you will be responsible for test system development in support of manufacturing and qualifying flight avionics hardware. This role includes both hardware and software development for those systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of developing safe and robust avionics for the New Glenn launch vehicle.
You will apply your technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred
- 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and/or testing electronic systems or devices
- Sound knowledge of electronics and electrical circuit fundamentals
- Programming test equipment for operational usage with a preference for Python scripting
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC standards, IEC and automotive standards or equivalent
- Familiarity with hardware and software development life cycle
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Passion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration and test
- Flexibility to support weekend shifts or non-standard hours as required by program needs
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of coordinated test and operations experience (aircraft, launch vehicles, spacecraft, racing teams)
- Experience leading sophisticated projects combining hardware, firmware, and software
- Experience developing and testing real-time embedded systems with modular and extensible architectures
- Working experience with Python
- Familiarity with Linux and other Unix-style operating systems
- Familiarity with git, Jenkins, JIRA
- Experience developing hardware to IPC J-STD-0001xS, IPC/WHMA-A-620x-S, and/or NASA-STD-8739.n standards
- Experience with DO-160, MIL-STD-461, and SMC-S-016 (or equivalent testing standards)
- Experience with safety-critical systems development (automotive, aerospace, medical, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range for WA applicants: $130,706.00 - $182,987.70. Other site ranges may differ.

Stock options available for all regular employees working at least 20 hours per week. Up to four weeks paid time off per year and up to 14 company-paid holidays.
