About the Role

You will join CesiumAstro's production team in Austin, TX, assembling electronic components for communication systems that fly on satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. Your work will include surface-mount technology (SMT), soldering, component preparation, X-ray inspection, de-paneling, and automated optical inspection (AOI).

What You Will Do

  • Perform electronic assembly operations including SMT, AOI, component prep, X-ray, de-panel, and soldering
  • Interpret schematics, drawings, and diagrams to guide assembly work
  • Read parts lists and verify all components are present before assembly
  • Communicate with engineers and design staff to confirm designs are implemented correctly
  • Complete quality control forms using basic computer skills
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Work in ESD and FOD-controlled environments
  • Collaborate with team members to keep production roles clear and efficient

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0-1 years of experience in electronic assembly operations
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and visual guides
  • Experience using hand tools to make or repair parts and products
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and color differentiation (for identifying electrical wires)
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean workspace
  • Familiarity with ESD and FOD-controlled environments
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and follow strict safety guidelines
  • Basic computer skills for quality control documentation
