Principal RF Engineer I Verified today
CesiumAstro develops communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Principal RF Engineer I to join our Cambridge team.
Your responsibilities
You will be responsible for RF circuits, modules and systems through all phases of development, from initial concept through in-orbit support. Your work will include:
- Block diagrams, detailed schematics, PCB layout and routing for RF circuits and systems
- System-level design of phased array communication systems including RF front ends, frequency converters and synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers and phased array antennas
- Requirements definition, architecture definition and part selection
- Analysis, simulations and test design
- Manufacturing support, testing and qualification
- Presenting engineering design review materials to customers and executive team
- Participating in proposal-writing efforts
- Technical and professional mentorship of team members
What you need
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; Master of Science desired
- Minimum 9 years industry experience in RF electronics and systems design and analysis
- Expert-level proficiency in CST and ADS simulation tools, and Altium EDA tools
- Extensive hands-on experience with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators and oscilloscopes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred experience
- Python or other programming languages
- Aerospace electronics design, development and qualification
- Worst-case circuit analysis, failure method and criticality analyses, and reliability analysis
- Antenna design
- EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques
