About the role
You will be responsible for RF circuits and systems through all phases of development. Your work spans block diagrams, detailed schematics, PCB layout and routing, simulations, and test design.
You will manage RF hardware designs from initial concept through requirements definition, part selection, detailed design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support. You will present engineering design review materials to customers and executives, and participate in proposal writing.
Key responsibilities
- Board-level schematic design and PCB layout of RF circuits
- System-level communications concepts including link budgets and modulation schemes
- Phased array communication systems: RF front-ends, frequency converters, synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and antennas
- Design review presentations to customers and leadership
- Proposal writing and technical communication
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 6+ years of industry experience in RF electronics design, analysis, test, and troubleshooting
- Professional simulation tools: CST and ADS
- EDA tools: Altium
- Lab instruments: vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, oscilloscopes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred experience
- MATLAB or other programming languages
- Aerospace electronics design, development, and qualification
- Worst-case circuit analysis, failure mode and criticality analyses, reliability analysis
- Antenna design
- EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques
