The Role
You will be responsible for the design, analysis, and implementation of engineering test plans and procedures for critical RF systems. Working closely with design and test engineering teams, you'll develop test requirements, map them to reusable test architectures, implement test procedures, and present results to stakeholders.
As a Senior RF Test Engineer II, you will distinguish yourself by architecting RF test systems, drawing insightful conclusions from test data, and participating in design-for-test planning from early development stages. You are a core member of the Cesium technical team.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Collaborate with design and test engineering teams to develop test requirements
- Map requirements to reusable test architectures and procedures
- Implement test plans and procedures
- Log and present results to key stakeholders
- Manage lab and equipment; guide equipment purchase decisions
- Present engineering design review materials to customers and executives
- Participate in proposal-writing efforts
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution
- Minimum 6 years experience with a bachelor's degree, or 4 years with a master's degree, in design, analysis, and implementation of RF test systems
- High proficiency with RF measurements (Linearity, NSD, EVM, etc.)
- Test architecture design and development including scripting, test executives, hardware, and measurement abstraction layers
- Proficiency with statistics and metrology as related to RF test design
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments: digital oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF signal generators, vector signal analyzers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity or hands-on experience with phased array testing
- Programming or scripting experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++)
- Understanding of RF and mixed-signal hardware (amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, antennas) and its effects on test design
