About the Role
You will design the critical power, digital, analog, and RF interconnects for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems. This role spans the full design process: defining specifications, developing schematics, routing cables, selecting connectors, creating assembly drawings, and participating in design reviews through integration and test.
You will take full ownership of wire harness designs and work collaboratively with electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and harness assembly technicians in a hands-on startup environment.
Core Responsibilities
- Design wire harnesses including schematic development, cable routing, and connector selection
- Prepare detailed harness assembly drawings and design documentation
- Conduct analysis and testing to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and performance requirements
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical recommendations
- Work cross-functionally with engineering and assembly teams
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 4 years of relevant industry or university research experience
- Proficiency in harness design tools such as RapidHarness
- Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles, wire routing, controlled impedance, cable shielding, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
- Knowledge of industry standards such as IPC-WHMA-A-620 and ISO 9001
- Extensive hands-on experience with lab instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and electronic loads
- Aerospace industry experience
- Detail-oriented approach with high accuracy in design documentation
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience designing for space environments
- Hands-on experience assembling wire harnesses
