Your Role
You will join the Satellite Systems team (reporting to the Satellite Systems Lead) as a Satellite Systems Engineer with electrical engineering focus. You will oversee and perform system engineering at satellite and electrical subsystem level, ensuring mission concepts become robust, flight-ready systems. This is a hands-on role where you will coordinate between engineering, Product Assurance, Project Management, AIT teams, and external suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
System Engineering
- Serve as technical point of contact between engineering, programme management, AIT, and Product Assurance
- Coordinate quality control and monitoring between AIT engineering and PA
- Support project management with schedule planning and progress reviews with subcontractors
- Coordinate definition of requirements and ensure proper flow-down from mission to system and subsystem level, managing verification and close-out
- Oversee satellite system architecture and ensure subsystem interfaces are consistent and compatible
- Review and approve subcontractor designs, verify compliance with technical requirements, industry regulations, and contractual obligations, and monitor milestones
- Coordinate system-level technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, IRR, TRR, etc.)
- Identify technical risks, develop mitigation strategies, maintain risk register, and prepare contingency plans
- Plan and manage verification activities with AIT teams, ensure tests are conducted correctly, results reported accurately, and documentation is complete and properly stored
Electrical Engineering
- Support definition, design, testing, and verification of the satellite's electrical system architecture, ensuring subsystem interfaces are consistent and compatible
- Work with thermal, structural, and payload engineering to ensure system-level compatibility
- Perform and support testing at subsystem, FlatSat, and satellite level, including reviewing test procedures, conducting tests, and evaluating results
- Ensure EMC/EMI compatibility at subsystem and satellite level
