About the Role
Join the propulsion operations team to develop embedded Linux communication systems for internal command and control of in-space propulsion systems during Assembly Integration and Testing (AIT). You will work at the interface of software, electronics, and propulsion hardware, collaborating with software engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers. This internship offers hands-on experience operating propulsion systems and the opportunity to see your code in real hardware integration.
What You'll Do
- Implement a plug-and-play communication system linking propulsion software to networked data infrastructure
- Interface with propulsion systems using CAN and serial protocols
- Integrate with existing testing infrastructure and tooling
- Verify and validate user experience with the testing team
What You'll Need
- Currently working towards a degree in Embedded Systems, Software, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Experience with embedded Linux
- Software development experience in C or Python
- Familiarity with digital communication buses such as CAN, Ethernet, RS-422, RS-485
- Experience with network communication including APIs and web sockets
- Interest in propulsion systems, hardware operations, and testing environments
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative teams and independently
- Minimum 5 months internship duration
