The Role

You will work with the Avionics and Integration teams in the design, build, integration, and test of space launch rockets, satellites, and landers. This position is based in our electronics manufacturing facility in Cedar Park, Texas. Compensation and responsibilities will match your experience level.

What You Will Do

  • Fabricate and assemble high quality, high reliability wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies
  • Perform harness repair using splicing, soldering, and pinning techniques
  • Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, drawings, blueprints, and engineering sketches
  • Document all work properly and completely in preparation for QA inspection
  • Provide feedback to engineering on quality, discrepancies, and manufacturing and design improvements
  • Self-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery
  • Comply with FOD program, tool control program, 5-S program, and all safety regulations

Required Experience and Skills

  • 1-4 years related work experience in wire harness assembly or box and battery assembly
  • Basic technical skills in electro-mechanical assembly
  • Hands-on experience with wire preparation, connector termination and assembly, soldering, and layup
  • Knowledge of industry standards including IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-610, and IPC-J-STD-001
  • Excellent concentration and attention to detail with high work efficiency and accuracy
  • Physical dexterity and ability to perform hands-on harness assembly for extended periods
  • Basic computer skills including email and MS Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills

Desired

  • Experience in fast-paced, constant-changing production environments with flight hardware
  • Military and/or civilian aircraft production experience
  • IPC 620, 610, and J-STD certifications

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
