The Role
The software engineering team designs, develops, validates, integrates and operates the flight avionics for the Logos spacecraft fleet. You will support architecture design from concept through flight, working in a fast-moving environment where you turn vague ideas into flight-ready hardware.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop high-throughput embedded real-time software in C/C++ for flight avionics
- Select and integrate microcontrollers and microprocessors
- Build software for embedded systems and custom SoCs (ARM Cortex, ESP32, RISC-V)
- Own product delivery across the entire lifecycle: design, development, prototyping, production, integration, and on-orbit operations
- Generate technical drawings, specifications, test procedures and validation reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or STEM field with relevant software design and analysis experience
- Minimum 5 years developing, prototyping and validating controls hardware with C/C++
- Expertise in one or more communication protocols (TCP/IP, UART, SPI, etc.)
- Deep understanding of modern DevOps tools and workflows
- Automation/scripting experience with Python and MATLAB
- Proven track record shipping hardware through the entire product lifecycle
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science or STEM field
- 3+ years using circuit simulation software such as LTSpice
- Development of high-throughput embedded real-time software on RTOS in C/C++ and embedded Linux
- FPGA programming or HDL experience
- Familiarity with control loops and PID controls
- Experience with test hardware: oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers
- Working with contract manufacturers on PCBA build, troubleshoot and test
- Knowledge of IPC standards relevant to PCB design (IPC-2221)
- Ability and willingness to attain a Top Secret Clearance
