The Role
You will be responsible for the overall spacecraft radiation hardness assurance plan for the Logos fleet. You'll work within the Electrical Engineering team on design, development, flight validation, assembly, integration, test, and in-flight success of our avionics and payload systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and own the spacecraft radiation hardness assurance plan
- Plan and carry out component and system-level radiation tests
- Support multi-functional teams with radiation mitigation recommendations through design and test
- Define test setups and standards for TID and SEE screening
- Generate technical drawings, specifications, test procedures, and reports for hardware design and validation
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or STEM field with relevant radiation effects work experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in radiation effects
- 3+ years experience with space environment modeling software (SPENVIS, OMERE, FASTRAD)
- Experience working with commercial radiation test facilities to define test flows and setup
- Proficiency with radiation hardness strategies by design (EDAC, watchdog, shielding)
- Proficiency with reliability and risk analysis for radiation-specific failure modes
- Experience with test hardware (oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectrum analyzers)
- Proven track record managing electrical hardware systems through full product lifecycle
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD in Electrical Engineering or STEM field with relevant radiation effects experience
- Professional experience with PCB design software (Altium, Cadence, KiCad)
- Experience with radiation susceptibilities unique to RF systems
- Familiarity with radiation test standards (MIL-STD-750, MIL-STD-883)
- Familiarity with parts derating standards (EEE-INST-002, ECSS-Q-ST-30-11C)
- Knowledge of automation and scripting software (Python, MATLAB)
- Ability and willingness to attain Top Secret Clearance
