About the Team

The Engine Manufacturing team delivers high-performance engines and innovative manufacturing systems that improve cost, quality, and lead time. You will provide active input shaping new hardware iterations and regularly interface with engineers on critical decisions for the Aeon R program. The team has successfully developed and refined processes for initial development engines and is now focused on producing flight engines at rate for Terran R's aggressive launch manifest.

About the Role

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing for development and production of combustion device hardware for Aeon R and Vacuum Engine programs.
  • Develop initial processes to build hardware, implement into production, and drive process improvements to enable rapid production ramp.
  • Collaborate closely with machine shop, additive manufacturing, supply chain, and propulsion design teams to drive manufacturability and scalability.
  • Ensure engine delivery to meet program targets while driving continuous improvement, new product development, and combustion device manufacturing strategy at Relativity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience authoring work instructions and process procedures for complex assemblies.
  • Experience interfacing with design engineering, manufacturing, and production personnel in a production environment.
  • Experience executing and driving projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Ability to understand and effectively advocate for Design for Manufacturing principles.

Nice to Have

  • 3+ years of experience building and testing hardware in a manufacturing environment.
  • Extensive experience with combustion device design or manufacturing.
  • Experience scaling from development to high-rate production.

Compensation

Hiring range: $112,000-$143,000 USD. Relativity Space offers competitive salary and equity, generous PTO and sick leave, parental leave, and annual learning and development stipend.
