The IT Team

Rocket Lab's IT team is responsible for how global teams access information and run operations across computer systems, networks, and devices. You'll work in a fast-paced environment supporting proprietary systems serving finance, launch operations, and all company functions.

The Role

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's Auckland Production Complex in Mt. Wellington, you will implement, administer, and operate platform and operating system environments including VMware, Kubernetes, Linux, Windows Server and Client.

What You'll Do

  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on IT systems through efficient management of cloud infrastructure and project delivery
  • Carry out upgrades and maintenance with focus on continuous improvement for reliable and secure infrastructure
  • Lead project planning and deployment for infrastructure projects
  • Create and sustain automated processes for software delivery, operating system deployment, and configuration management across SCCM hierarchy
  • Maintain efficient operation of upgrades or migrations by implementing required changes
  • Troubleshoot user software and hardware problems in line with policies
  • Perform site-specific risk mitigation activities as part of change and configuration management
  • Create, test, and distribute operating systems, application packages, scripts, and batch programs
  • Work with world-class IT, engineering, and business professionals

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • 2+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree, OR equivalent experience with a high school diploma or GED (6+ total years)
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows Server Administration: Active Directory, Group Policy, Certificate Management (PKI), DNS, or DHCP
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS and/or O365 and Azure enterprise environments
  • One or more of: Kubernetes, VMware, Linux, Configuration Management, Automation, Infrastructure as Code
  • One or more of: Server and Storage hardware, Backups, NetApp, Pure Storage, hyperconverged infrastructure, VOIP phone systems

Nice to Have:

  • Specialist qualification in AWS, Azure, Microsoft, or similar
  • Juniper or Cisco network switching, IPSEC, SSL VPNs, firewalls
  • Security frameworks: ISO 27001, NIST 800-171, CMMC, CUI
  • Fortinet firewall setup, configuration, and management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Working Conditions

This position may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and occasional exposure to moderate levels of noise, dust, and fumes in production areas.
