About the Role
The IT Systems Engineer II manages and optimizes IT infrastructure to ensure reliability and efficiency. You will install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications, manage network configurations, implement virtualization technologies, and develop automation scripts. Key responsibilities include:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems and software applications
- Manage and troubleshoot network configurations and protocols to ensure seamless connectivity
- Implement and manage virtualization technologies to optimize resource utilization
- Develop and maintain automation scripts to streamline IT processes
- Design and implement backup and recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity
- Perform routine system administration tasks: user account management, system monitoring, and resource allocation
- Manage authentication and authorization processes
- Administer local and network resources, including file systems and printers
- Manage Windows system configurations and Active Directory
- Administer networked and distributed computing environments, including routing and remote access services
- Modify deployed group policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on IT projects and initiatives
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree)
- Typically 2+ years of related experience
- Proficiency in operating systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Knowledge of networking protocols and configurations
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Familiarity with scripting languages for automation
- Understanding of backup and recovery procedures
- Ability to boot/shut down machines, add and remove user accounts, use backup programs, manage shared resources, and add workstations to networks
- Understanding of system processes/services versus user processes, authentication/authorization processes, and basic networking concepts
- Familiarity with Windows administrative tools and Active Directory
- Familiarity with networked/distributed computing environment concepts, including routing and group policy management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced certifications in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate)
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure)
- Proficiency in advanced scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Compensation
Pay Range: $87,156.00 - $119,839.50
Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
