About the Role
You will lead design and analysis efforts for thermal control systems across multiple space vehicle programs, serving as the Responsible Engineer. Your responsibilities include:
- Managing all aspects of system and component design, analysis, development and integration
- Conducting trade studies, layout definition, and architecture development
- Leading system testing, verification and production troubleshooting
- Analyzing and interpreting test and simulation data to inform design decisions
- Preparing detailed technical documentation and reports
- Serving as the prime technical thermal control systems contact on contracts and projects
- Contributing to development of new principles and concepts
- Mentoring junior engineers on technical and professional development
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and refine system designs
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience, or master's degree plus 10 years experience)
- 12+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated expertise in Thermal Control Systems technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques
- Ability to provide solutions to unusually complex technical problems requiring ingenuity and creativity
- Ability to work under consultative direction towards predetermined long-range goals and objectives
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field
- Extensive experience with design, analysis, integration and test methods for space vehicle thermal control systems at subsystem and component level (radiators, heaters, MLI)
- Proficiency with advanced engineering software tools such as NX and Thermal Desktop
- Experience with advanced data analysis tools and techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and proven track record of innovative mechanical engineering solutions
- Superior communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences
- Ability to work independently and within teams, demonstrating strong leadership and collaboration
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-stakes projects and meet challenging deadlines
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes, material sciences and their impact on thermal control systems
- Advanced experience with end-item or vehicle-level testing and validation
- Experience supporting pursuits and proposals, including technical proposals and BOEs
Compensation
Pay Range: $167,096 - $229,757
Base compensation determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity and market competitiveness.
Security Clearance
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.
