About the Role

You will lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of highly complex electrical components and systems, with specialization in Harness 3D design. This senior-level position involves working on advanced space projects, collaborating with diverse engineering teams, and driving technical excellence.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead design and development of complex electrical components and harness systems
  • Modify and evaluate existing electrical systems to improve performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet project requirements and standards
  • Conduct tests and simulations to validate electrical system performance
  • Document design processes, test results, and modifications for future reference
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for electrical systems
  • Stay updated with latest advancements in electrical engineering and apply new knowledge to projects
  • Participate in team meetings and project planning discussions
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers and technicians
  • Act as technical lead for specialized projects, ensuring successful execution and maintaining technical excellence
  • Perform control account management (CAM) duties, collaborating with project managers and functional managers to align cost, risk, schedule, and performance

About You

You are passionate about advancing space-based technology in service of national security. You bring extensive experience in electrical engineering with specialized expertise in areas such as power systems, control systems, EWIS, or CD&H.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience, or Master's degree plus 6 years experience)
  • 8 or more years of related experience
  • Specialized expertise in a particular area (e.g., power systems, control systems, EWIS, CD&H)
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical and avionic systems architectures and their design
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
  • Ability to provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced engineers
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on projects involving both small and large engineering teams
  • Knowledge of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation
  • Knowledge of systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principles
  • Experience performing trade studies to support subsystem architecture decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving as a Responsible Engineer (RE), driving hardware through its lifecycle including development, qualification, integration and test, verification and validation, and certification
  • High proficiency in electrical design software such as Capital, AutoCAD Electrical, Altium Designer, or similar tools
  • Experience with simulation software like SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Hyperlynx or similar
  • Expertise in PCB design and layout
  • Advanced understanding of power electronics and control systems
  • Extensive experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, or FPGA design
  • Ability to perform advanced circuit analysis and troubleshooting using tools like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers
  • High proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ or Python for embedded systems development
  • Proven experience in project management and ability to lead large and complex projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility U.S. Security Clearance

Compensation

Pay range: $137,443 to $188,983 per year. Your actual base compensation will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, experience, internal equity, and market competitiveness.

Security Clearance Requirement

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
