Avionics Technician (Falcon & Dragon)
SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to enable human life on Mars. As an Avionics Technician, you will fabricate and assemble high-quality, flight-ready wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies for Falcon and Dragon vehicles.
What you will do
- Fabricate and assemble high-quality and reliable wire harnesses and electro-mechanical assemblies
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings and controlled documentation
- Perform verification testing on flight hardware and document results in a clear, precise, and complete manner
- Record work performed using the shop floor management system (ERP)
- Self-monitor work progress against area benchmarks and achieve on-time delivery
- Assist with the development of production processes for first-time production runs
- Assist with area efficiency improvement projects
Basic qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1 or more years of experience using mechanical hand tools or following work instructions
Preferred skills and experience
- Associate degree
- Experience in a fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
- Hands-on experience fabricating harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, or prototype development
- Ability to adapt to constant changing work assignments
- Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy
Physical requirements
- Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed. Estimated start times: 1st shift (3am), 2nd shift (1pm)
- Ability to stand for long periods, climb ladders, bend, grasp, sit, pull, push, stoop, and stretch
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to distinguish colors is required
Compensation
Pay range based on experience and qualifications:
- Level 1: $22.00 to $24.50 per hour
- Level 2: $24.50 to $29.00 per hour
- Level 3: $28.50 to $35.00 per hour
