About the role

You will operate, setup, and program CNC machines to produce flight hardware for the Raptor program. Working on state-of-the-art assets including DMG, Nigata, and Heller machines, you will drive high machine uptime and consistent part quality across the manufacturing shop.

Your responsibilities

  • Operate, setup, and program edit CNC machines for flight hardware meeting Raptor program rate targets
  • Perform precision set-ups of various CNC machines on state-of-the-art assets (DMG, Nigata, Heller)
  • Manage cutting tools in CNC machines, ensuring all needed tools are loaded and measured before programs run
  • Perform on and off machine deburr of hardware to ensure consistent part quality
  • Operate clean line equipment, CMM, borescope, and general part finishing per requirements
  • Perform CNC machine preventative maintenance weekly and monthly
  • Maintain shop standards including chip bins, oils, greases, 5S, and general upkeep
  • Prioritize daily work to ensure high machine uptime across the assigned shop area
  • Complete work instructions and test plans to document required data throughout each process
  • Introduce fresh ideas in machining, fixturing and tooling for optimal efficiency
  • Remain flexible in a fast-paced environment and support teammates as needed

Basic qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in CNC machining

Preferred skills and experience

  • 3+ years operating CNC machinery
  • Proficient knowledge in high efficiency milling and turning
  • Shop math, tooling technology, blueprint reading, and parts measurement
  • Ability to read accurately, write clearly, and perform basic arithmetic calculations
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Able to cross train peers or be cross trained by peers
  • Capable of learning all shop assets
  • Strong interpersonal and team-oriented skills

Physical requirements

  • Must lift 35 lbs unassisted
  • Must stand and kneel for 8 hours
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements including bending, twisting, and handling tools and controls
  • Ability to tolerate distracting sounds and noise levels

Compensation

Pay range by level:

  • Level 1: $23.00-$27.00/hour
  • Level 2: $26.00-$32.50/hour
  • Level 3: $31.00-$38.00/hour

Actual level and salary determined case-by-case based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
