Propulsion Technician (Fluids Systems)
This is a hands-on role assembling and testing rocket hardware and sub-assemblies. You will work on different propulsion systems, troubleshoot anomalies, and operate independently to defined schedules while maintaining safety and quality.
What You'll Do
- Stage, install, set-up, test and de-stage engines
- Troubleshoot engines and cell systems
- Operate test cell instrumentation and computer network systems as described in test instructions
- Accept or reject test units based on calculated test data and results
- Perform work according to procedures, specifications and test instructions
- Clean tools, valves, regulators and maintain a professional work area
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, military, assembly, fabrication, aviation, or automotive environments OR certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience staging, installing, removing and de-staging propulsion engines
- A&P license
- 2+ years of experience working on aircraft or rocket engines
- 5+ years of aerospace engines experience
- Knowledge of pressure, temperature and flow measurement devices, mechanical and electrical systems, and/or propulsion engines
- Strong mathematical, basic computer, problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to meet aggressive schedules
- Ability to operate and understand readouts on standard cell instrumentation: CRT screens, Daytronic vibration analyzer, and computer network systems
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
- Expected shift times: 1st shift (approximately 4 AM to 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (approximately 2 PM to 12:30 AM)
- Able to lift 25 lbs unassisted
- Able to stand for extended periods (8 hours minimum)
- Able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces
Compensation
Pay range depends on level:
- Level 1: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour
- Level 2: $26.00 to $32.50 per hour
- Level 3: $31.00 to $38.00 per hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
