SpaceX is developing next-generation RF and analog integrated circuits for Starlink, the world's largest satellite constellation serving 5M+ users. You will design RFICs that enable connectivity in space and ground infrastructures worldwide, working with systems engineers, modem designers, and ASIC teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate and model RF/analog/mixed-signal circuits and systems
  • Derive specifications for RFIC subsystems and circuits
  • Develop analog/mixed-signal/RF/microwave circuits in SiGe or CMOS processes
  • Partition functions between hardware and software with system architects and DSP engineers
  • Perform IC floor planning and layout
  • Model package and external parasitic components
  • Evaluate and characterize design prototypes
  • Characterize and analyze full radio performance
  • Assist in developing automated test lab equipment for measurements
  • Work with manufacturing engineers on production testing and qualification

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science
  • 5+ years of RF integrated circuit experience

Preferred Experience

  • Master's degree or PhD in electrical engineering or computer engineering with emphasis in RF/analog/mixed-signal IC design
  • Simulation tools: Spectre, ADS, HFSS or Momentum
  • Circuit design and analysis of phase-locked loops, vector modulators/demodulators, oscillators, mixers, filters, low noise amplifiers and power amplifiers
  • Digital communication systems, spread spectrum, and modulation techniques (QPSK, APSK, QAM)
  • RF transceiver architectures
  • RF/microwave design in Ku-band, K-band and Ka-band
  • Radio test equipment: spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers, vector signal generators, network analyzers
  • Characterization of radio performance at microwave frequencies

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work long hours and weekends as necessary to support critical milestones

Compensation

Level 3: $165,000 - $265,000 base salary. Actual level and salary determined case-by-case based on qualifications, education and experience.
