What You'll Do
You will conduct detailed process audits, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to materials, equipment, processes, and products. You will implement robust quality control systems and drive corrective actions to address discrepancies.
You will collaborate closely with managers and team leads to implement effective quality measures within their teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Quality Management: Drive the resolution of non-conformances through Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) processes, both in the cleanroom and on operational satellites. Monitor, evaluate, and report on in-process quality performance.
- Supplier Quality Management: Manage non-conformance issues with suppliers, track and report on supplier performance, review documentation, and serve as a liaison for engineering technical inquiries.
- Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to QMS documentation to support continuous improvement and compliance.
- Auditing: Conduct internal audits in accordance with AS9100 standards and participate in external supplier audits to ensure quality standards are met.
- Engineering Change Notifications (ECN): Assist in the validation of engineering changes to spacecraft and their implementation.
- Documentation: Support the creation and modification of Quality Control Notices (QCNs), manufacturing workflows, and work instructions to ensure accurate and efficient processes.
- Calibration: Support the management and accuracy of the Spire equipment database, ensuring all instruments are properly calibrated.
- Inspection: Provide support for inspection activities as needed to ensure incoming goods meet quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Actively contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- HND in Engineering or relevant qualification in an engineering discipline
- Proven background in a Quality Engineering role, preferably in manufacturing or engineering
- Skilled in driving RCCA processes to resolution, utilizing methodologies such as 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, FMEA and Pareto analysis
- Strong understanding of AS9100 standards (ISO 9001:2015 experience shall also be considered)
- Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced setting where adaptability and problem-solving are key
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and effective in both verbal and written communication
Preferred Qualifications
- AS9100 Internal Auditor Certification
- IPC-A-610 Certification
- Ability to read Mechanical and Schematic Drawings
- Experience in aerospace, defence or similar high technology industry
