The Exploration Company is developing Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle designed to be refuelled in orbit and carry cargo and potentially humans. We are also developing propulsion systems for future vehicles and missions.
Your Role
As a Heat Exchanger Development Engineering Intern, you will design and operate test benches for fluidic components. Your work spans the full lifecycle from concept to operation and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Design test benches for fluidic components, including concept creation and trade-off analysis
- Create piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID)
- Perform CAD design work
- Select and procure components
- Support data acquisition system (DAQ) setup
- Commission the test bench
- Operate the bench and conduct experiments
- Post-process and interpret test data
- Document procedures and onboard team members
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree completed or substantial progress in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related discipline
- Experience with CAD software (Siemens NX, CATIA, or equivalent) including assemblies
- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, including compressible flow
- Experience in test bench design and operation
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication skills and autonomy
- Proficiency in English required; German is advantageous
