The Role

You will design, develop, and test complete spacecraft systems and subsystems across all phases of the satellite lifecycle, from proposal and concept through design, testing, and final operations. You will ensure systems meet mission function, performance, and reliability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership throughout the entire spacecraft lifecycle
  • Derive and maintain system requirements to ensure mission success
  • Define mission CONOPS with internal and external stakeholders
  • Own system budgets: mass, power, delta-V, data, and link budgets
  • Define verification and validation plans for system and subsystem activities
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary experts
  • Track system compliance and performance against mission needs
  • Lead teams through technical milestones: MCR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, PSR
  • Author Interface Control Documents and systems engineering documentation
  • Interact directly with customers and suppliers

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years experience in spacecraft systems engineering, spacecraft design, or related field, with hands-on satellite design and integration experience
  • Experience deriving and maintaining requirements from system level to lower levels
  • Ability to create and track system-level budgets throughout project lifecycle
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and disciplines
  • Must be able to obtain Secret and/or TS/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in spacecraft systems engineering or spacecraft design with hands-on satellite work
  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience with Cameo, Capella, Innoslate, or similar
  • Satellite analysis tools: Python, Matlab, STK, GMAT, or FreeFlyer
  • Requirement management tools: Jama, Doors, Flow, or similar
  • Startup work environment experience
  • Full product lifecycle experience: concept design, preliminary design, manufacturing, testing, operations

Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 USD
