The Role

Vantor is seeking a Systems Engineer with an active TS/SCI security clearance to contribute to a High-Performance Computing (HPC) environment. You will install, configure, and sustain Linux operating systems, collaborate on GPU development, and provide technical systems support across a Linux-heavy ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and sustain Linux operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Assist in the design and provisioning of the enterprise network environment
• Prepare and deliver program and user level documentation for system operations
• Provide technical systems support for project activities
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise
• Understand current system, subsystems, and component specifications and recommend changes to facilitate efficient development
• Interact with technical team leads and communicate expertise across organizational boundaries
• Work both independently and in small groups

Minimum Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain a CI polygraph
• Bachelor's degree in network engineering, information systems, computer engineering, or related technical field (relevant professional experience may substitute for degree)
• 5+ years' experience in the following areas:
  • System Administration or systems engineering in a Linux-heavy environment
  • Supporting DevOps Infrastructure
  • Build, operations, and sustainment of LAN/WAN networks
  • Implementing DoD Cyber Security requirements
  • Physical compute and networking hardware
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and evaluating alternatives to solve complex problems

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Infiniband networks and configuration
• Experience with Juniper Network and Security Platforms

Compensation

Base pay for the Washington, DC metropolitan area: $116,000 - $154,000 - $169,400 annually. Pay varies by location based on geographic cost of labor. Compensation determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and market conditions.
