Systems Engineer I - ISR Verified today
Job Summary
Systems Engineer I is an entry-level position working directly with technical peers, chief engineers, and systems engineers on complex communications signal processing problems in the ISR domain. You will develop functional understanding of wireless communications protocols and apply systems engineering and signal processing to solve challenging problems.
Your Responsibilities
- Research and develop functional understanding of wireless communications protocols and systems (AM/FM, DMR, 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth, LoRa, Zigbee)
- Design and prototype software defined radio solutions for signal processing problems
- Model and simulate wireless signals and RF propagation effects
- Work with software development teams to develop, integrate, and test software defined radio systems
- Perform testing and validation of ISR systems in laboratory and outdoor test facilities
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required due to program security requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance; active clearance preferred
- Zero to two years of experience in similar position
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or other software languages
- Understanding of basic digital signal processing theories and applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with digital signal processing emphasis
Other Requirements
- Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time
Compensation
Base salary range: $81,600 to $105,500 USD. Salary placement depends on experience, skills, and location.
